Getting Started

Installation

Adding OverWatcher to your Discord server is quick and easy. Follow these simple steps:

                            1. Click the "Add to Discord" button on our homepage
                            2. Select your Discord server from the dropdown
                            3. Review and approve the requested permissions
                            4. Click "Authorize" to complete the installation
                        

Note: You need "Manage Server" permissions to add bots to a Discord server.

Initial Setup

After adding OverWatcher to your server, run the setup command to configure basic settings:

/setup

This will guide you through:

Setting up moderation channels
Configuring auto-moderation rules
Setting admin and moderator roles
Enabling security features

Required Permissions

OverWatcher requires the following permissions to function properly:

                            • Read Messages / View Channels
                            • Send Messages
                            • Manage Messages
                            • Embed Links
                            • Read Message History
                            • Add Reactions
                            • Use Slash Commands
                            • Manage Roles (for moderation features)
                            • Kick Members (for moderation features)
                            • Ban Members (for moderation features)
                            • Manage Channels (for security features)
                        

Warning: Removing essential permissions may cause some features to stop working correctly.

Moderation Features

Auto-Moderation

OverWatcher includes intelligent auto-moderation that can detect and handle various types of problematic content:

Spam Detection - Automatically detects and removes spam messages
Toxic Language Filter - Filters out offensive language and slurs
Link Protection - Blocks malicious links and phishing attempts
Caps Lock Filter - Manages excessive use of capital letters

Manual Moderation Commands

                            /warn [user] [reason]     - Issue a warning to a user
                            /mute [user] [duration]   - Temporarily mute a user
                            /kick [user] [reason]     - Kick a user from the server
                            /ban [user] [reason]      - Ban a user from the server
                            /unban [user_id]          - Unban a previously banned user
                        

Security Features

Threat Detection

OverWatcher continuously monitors your server for potential security threats:

Suspicious account activity detection
Mass join/raid protection
Malware and virus link scanning
Account age verification

Emergency Lockdown

In case of a security incident, you can instantly lock down your server:

                            /lockdown        - Enable emergency lockdown mode
                            /unlockdown      - Disable lockdown mode
                        

Lockdown mode temporarily prevents all non-admin users from sending messages and joining voice channels.

                            /logs view [type]         - View recent audit logs
                            /logs search [query]      - Search through log history

Web Dashboard

Access the OverWatcher dashboard to configure your bot through a user-friendly web interface:

                            1. Visit https://overwatcher.com/dashboard
                            2. Log in with your Discord account
                            3. Select your server from the list
                            4. Configure settings through the web interface

Troubleshooting

Common Issues

Bot Not Responding

If OverWatcher isn't responding to commands:

Check if the bot has the necessary permissions
Ensure the bot role is high enough in the role hierarchy
Verify the bot is online (green status)
Try using slash commands instead of prefix commands

Commands Not Working

If specific commands aren't working:

Check command permissions in server settings
Verify your role has permission to use the command
Make sure you're using the correct command syntax
